Sculptures –
Matter in Transformation

My sculptures emerge from the encounter between matter and memory — wood, stoneware, ceramics, and gold leaf, surfaces that carry the marks of time and transformation. Each piece follows an abstract visual language rooted in contemplation: mythical symbols, organic forms, a quiet calligraphy that does not explain but evokes. Every sculpture is unique, shaped across my studios in Caracas, Tenerife, and Berlin.

Sculptures — wood, clay, and gold

My sculptures begin with materials that carry their own memory. Most are rooted in 'Tea' wood — the heartwood of the Canary Island pine — dark, resin-rich, slow-growing, and ancient. Into this wood I bring high-fired ceramic, shaped, pressed, and marked with relief-like symbols that seem to emerge from the clay rather than being placed upon it.

Gold leaf catches the light, drawing attention to what feels essential, while fields of color lend warmth, tension, or stillness to each form. Whether a totem, a relief, or a double-sided assemblage, these mixed-media sculptures — created between Tenerife and my Berlin studio — bring together wood, clay, and gold in abstract works that speak quietly of memory, place, and transformation.
